Terms of use

The rules for using the directory and listing your business.

Last updated: 10 September 2026

Who these terms are with

These terms are an agreement between you and Construction Australia Connect, operator of the Construction Australia directory. By creating an account or using the directory, you accept them.

Your account

  • Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • You must be authorised to act for any business you claim or add.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or is used to misrepresent a business.

Claiming a business listing

Many listings are created by us before their owner arrives. To take control of one you must claim it. Where your confirmed work email matches the business’s website domain, we may approve the claim automatically; otherwise our team reviews it by hand and may ask for evidence.

If a claim is disputed, we may revoke ownership and reassign it. We decide these cases on the evidence available and our decision is final.

Content you publish

  • You keep ownership of what you publish, and grant us the right to display and promote it on the directory.
  • You are responsible for its accuracy — including any licence or accreditation numbers you list. Don’t publish anything misleading, unlawful, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • News updates and promotional banners are reviewed before they go live, and changes to an already-published update are reviewed before they replace it. We may decline or remove content at our discretion.

Enquiries

Enquiries sent through an enhanced listing go to that business alone — we do not share a single enquiry with multiple businesses, and we do not sell leads. We pass enquiries on as they are submitted; we do not verify enquirers and we are not party to any agreement you reach with them.

Free and enhanced listings

  • A claimed listing is free and stays free.
  • The enhanced plan is a subscription, billed in advance through Stripe. Prices shown exclude GST, which is added at checkout.
  • Founding rate: if you subscribe during the founding promotion, that rate applies for 12 months from your start date, after which the subscription continues at our standard rate. We will tell you before that happens.
  • You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your enhanced features run to the end of the period you have paid for. We don’t refund part-periods unless the law requires it.
  • If a payment failswe keep your enhanced features live for a short grace period and email you. If it isn’t resolved, the listing reverts to the free tier — your content is kept, simply hidden, and returns if you re-subscribe.
  • We may change our prices with reasonable notice. Changes never apply to a period you have already paid for.

Removing and merging listings

If we find duplicate listings for the same business we may merge them. The retired address redirects to the surviving listing, so existing links keep working. We may also hide or remove a listing that breaches these terms.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the directory available and accurate, but we provide it “as is” and don’t guarantee uninterrupted access, particular results, or that every listing is correct. Listing a business is not an endorsement or a recommendation, and you should make your own checks — including of licences and insurance — before engaging anyone.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, it is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of doing so.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the directory means accepting the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
